Phlebodia 600 – are there any side effects?

The active substance of Phlebodia 600, the bioflavonoid diosmin, is of plant origin. It belongs to the group of angioprotectors and has a positive effect on the functional state of the venous wall. 1 tablet of the medicine contains the daily dose of diosmin that is optimal for a venotonic effect – 600 mg [1]. By acting on the venous wall, diosmin reduces the distensibility of the veins and increases venous tone, which helps to reduce venous congestion. Its angioprotective action consists of improving microcirculation, increasing capillary resistance and reducing capillary permeability. Diosmin also has other important effects, such as anti-inflammatory and anti-oedema effects [2]. Like all medicines, Phlebodia 600 can cause adverse reactions. The following have been observed: a feeling of heaviness or discomfort in the upper abdomen, stomach pain, bloating, diarrhoea, nausea and allergic reactions. Gastrointestinal effects rarely led to discontinuation of treatment [2]. Nevertheless, if a side effect occurs, you should consult a doctor.
